It’s Monday, another one, you just can’t avoid them. You prepare yourself on a Sunday for it, but it doesn’t take away the pain. You know what takes it away, though? Memes. A well-placed meme can get you ready for a Monday, face it head on and fight back.
So, how was your weekend? Did you watch anything good? I saw two movies I’m going to moan about this Monday.
The Thursday Murder Club
I made it 30 minutes into this before I went to bed. It starred Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie. Honestly, the characters weren’t all that likeable or interesting. The wife seemed to enjoy it, though that’s a pretty good indication that it wasn’t good.
Guns Up!
Guns Up! was a Monday of a movie, it stars Kevin James and Christina Ricci. I don’t know what it is about James at the moment, but he’s going all ‘action star’. He did Becky in 2020, and now Guns Up! I’m going to spoil the movie because you need to avoid it. It’s basically Nobody; the dad is a secret hit man and gets the family in trouble.
The main issue with Guns Up! was that James is being John Wick, OK, cool. Halfway through the movie, it turns out that Ricci is twice the John Wick James was. There is literally a moment where James just stands a watches Ricci beat up about 5 guys without breaking a sweat. Someone said this was a comedy, but it’s not funny and turns up the woke to 11.
