Hello Monday, my old friend. It’s good to see you again. Most people hate you, but I don’t, because of you Monday, we have movie memes to cheer us up.
Did you all have a good weekend? Is there anything you need to moan about this Monday?
I watched the new Anaconda and have a review of it here, and I also rewatched the original The Terminator. Man alive, they really don’t make them like that anymore! It’s been a few years since I saw it. It suffers just a little from the effects, but it’s still brilliant.
So I’m not moaning this Monday, I’m telling you how great it is to revisit older movies. Back in the 80’s, there were lots of guns, guts, and boobs movies, but most of them were the same. If you take Die Hard and Commando, they are awesome, but they are all set in ‘reality’. The Terminator added that sci-fi element.
If you think about it too much, it’s bloody stupid; Kyle Reese becomes John Connor’s father? There is always an issue with time travel movies, but it’s always about how much fun you can have with it. You are completely with Sarah and Kyle as they escape the evil terminator, a machine with super strength, a 200 IQ, and the speech circuits of a young Austrian boy.
