Night Shyamalan’s New Movie

Can you think of anyone else who has had a career like M. Night Shyamalan? Sixth Sense was a smash hit and he was King of the Hill, for about 20 minutes. Since then, his movies have, well, declined in quality.

Wrenage reviewed his last movie, Trap, and it got 1 star. Deservedly so, it was pretty bad. You would think that directors would get better with their movies, learn as you go, and make improvements, but not Shyamalan.

Trap

According to Deadline and The InSneider, Shyamalan’s new movie is going to be a supernatural romantic thriller. He’s writing alongside Nicholas Sparks, who penned The Notebook. Oddly enough, I’ve never seen The Notebook, I imagine it’s about an office supply company or something?

The new movie, which is untitled at the moment, is an original work from the pair. The only draw is the cast, it seems like Jake Gyllenhaal has signed to be in the movie. I like Gyllenhaal as an actor, he seems like a very cool guy, but his last movie, Roadhouse, was ‘meh’ at best.

Gyllenhaal has been busy, he was in an Apple TV series, Presumed Innocent. I didn’t see it, but the reviews seemed to like it and it has been renewed for a second series.

There is no news on when the new Shyamalan movie will be out, but you can bet your last pair of pants we will bring you the news about it!
