Frank Castle was teased in Daredevil: Born Again, and we know he plays a role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Before that, there is the small matter of a Marvel Special Presentation for Disney+ as they continue to surprise by embracing some of the darker parts of the Marvel universe as part of their post-Phase 4 reset. The Punisher: One Last Kill.
Jon Bernthal once again reprises his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher from the old Marvel Television & Netflix TV series.

Alongside the return of Daredevil, the rest of The Defenders are also being lined up for a return, with one already appearing in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.
Plot specifics of this special presentation are unknown, but the trailer tells you enough of what you need to know about Frank and why he’s about to do what he does best. The level of violence and strong language on display is something that simply wouldn’t have happened in the MCU until they started to stutter and realised they needed to broaden their horizons a little to try and engage a wider audience.
Between things like this and Wonder Man, it is clear that Disney+ is where the more interesting, and potentially experimental, end of the MCU can happen. Will Marvel Studios continue to be braver there, or can they not help themselves?
Jason R. Moore, Roe Rancell, and Mila Jaymes co-star. Reinaldo Marcus Green (King Richard, Bob Marley: One Love) directs and wrote the script. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, and Jon Bernthal executive produce alongside Green.
The Punisher: One Last Kill premieres on Disney+ on May 12th.
