REACHER Ritchson’s Roadside Rumble Roundup

Earlier this week, we reported that Reacher star Alan Ritchson was in a roadside brawl with a neighbour. Chances are, you’re on tenterhooks waiting to find out what happened. I know we are! Since there was no other news this weekend, this is the most exciting thing happening. It turns out that Ritchson’s bodycam seemed to exonerate him.

It turns out that the local police will not be charging Ritchson for the ‘incident’. After an investigation, the police have confirmed that Ritchson was acting in self-defence. Police Captain Steve Pepin said:

“After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defence.”

The Reacher star had the option to press charges against his neighbour, Ronnie Taylor, but declined to do so. Pepin went on to say:

“Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges. With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.”

Who Started It?

All of the following is what happened, according to reports, but it’s mostly hearsay. The neighbour, Taylor, told TMZ that he had confronted Ritchson the day before about driving his bike up and down the street recklessly. This was on the Saturday, Taylor went on to say:

“Then, on Sunday, when I was cleaning my bike outside my house, he rode past once, twice and on the second time, I walked out in front of him, and I said, ‘You got to stop. Someone’s going to get hurt,’”

“Then it escalated quite quickly from there. I did push him because he was coming toward me on his bike. I think the second time he got off his bike, and he kicked the crap out of me… He hit me in the back of my head [and] I went to the ground and covered myself.”

So, Taylor was concerned about how Ritchson was riding too fast in a built-up area, two days in a row. Ritchson carried on on the Sunday, riding past twice, very fast. The second time is when the neighbor got the poopy kicked out of him.

On the one hand, Taylor didn’t do the right thing by ‘putting his hands on’ Ritchson. On the other hand, riding around like a bellend, ‘fast’ in a suburban area, could have ended badly. Taylor just wanted him to slow down.

Who was in the right?

Cringe

As I said in the previous article, a lot of people took to social media and said how Taylor was wrong, Ritchson was right, and ‘FAFO’.

Personally, I think Ritchson was the main antagonist in this. If he hadn’t been riding his bike so badly, in a built-up area, no one would have said or done anything. Yes, Taylor was in the wrong as well, but he had been pushed by Ritchson in the first place.

As I have said, I don’t like knowing about actors outside of their movies. For me, this lowered my respect for Ritchson, and put me off him a little.

Your opinion might have changed, for better or worse, but then this happened.
