It appears that this started around 2010, and due to something called My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, suddenly a certain kind of man got obsessed with My Little Pony and ruined that in the same way they ruined women’s sports. What the actual fuck is wrong with people?
Apparently the “Brony” trend started among certain 4Chan posters and grew from there. It was the subject of a 2012 documentary Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony (formerly titled BronyCon: The Documentary).

Hasbro is also working on a reimagining of Clue, another live-action Dungeons & Dragons via a series at Netflix, and something based on Magic: The Gathering.
