Sam Raimi started his directing life with the amazing Evil Dead, then Evil Dead 2. More recently, he moved to the MCU with the Toby Maguire Spider-man movies. His last entry in the MCU was Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
As we all know, the MCU isn’t going away anytime soon. Even though some people are saying it’s ‘superhero fatigue’, Disney will still keep churning them out. Apparently, Doctor Strange 3 is still on the cards.
There were rumours going around that Raimi was going to direct a new Avengers movie or possibly a return for Maguire as Spidey. None of those have panned out, yet.
An insider from Hollywood, Jeff Sneider, reported on his website:
“I’m told that Raimi is definitely coming back, which is no surprise as he really seemed to enjoy working with Marvel, as opposed to other filmmakers who have struggled to adapt to the studio’s process.“
He seems to think that Raimi will be back for Doctor Strange 3. This is all rumour, of course, things like this fly around all the time.
In the meantime, Raimi is set to direct Send Help, a new horror starring Rachel McAdams. Send Help is being described as Misery meets Castaway, although there is no official synopsis as yet.
What do you make of Raimi these days? Would Doctor Strange 3 interest you if he was back?
