The Slow Horses are back, as the autumn and winter TV season spins up. Good TV is back on the menu boys! Apple TV has premiered the full trailer for the sixth season. The multi-award-winning espionage drama, and sometimes dark comedy, returns on September 16th.
The new season sees the Slow Horses forced to go on the run as MI5 head Diana Taverner’s past seemingly pulls them into a cycle of retaliation and revenge, with two assassins hunting down the team.
The assassins are played by newcomers Kyle Soller (Andor) and MyAnna Buring (The Witcher).
Other new joiners are Lucian Msamati, Lenny Rush, and Harry Lloyd. They are joined by regulars Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving.
This season adapts two of Mick Herron’s novels, the sixth – Joe Country – and the seventh – Slough House – into a single six episode series.
Former writer/executive producer Will Smith has stepped away, with Gaby Chiappe taking over. Adam Randall returns from season 4 to direct the whole run.
