So, how was your first week back at work? Is 2026 going to be your year? Or is it going to be the same hellscape as 2025? Now come on, let’s be positive here. It is the weekend, so you can sit down and watch some movies and TV, that’s good, isn’t it?
In the UK, there has been a blanket of snow all over the country, well, everywhere but where I live! I wanted to make a snowman. Movies and TV it is for this weekend, then? So, what to watch?
- Nightmare Alley – Movie – GDT’s take on a movie noir, and not bad.
- Frequency (2002) – Movie – A really good movie.
- 12 Angry Men – Movie – The original and still a brilliant film. It has no women in it; is that why it’s so good?
- Transylvania 6-5000 – Movie – Jeff Goldblum and Ed Begley Jr. in a very silly comedy, but still made me laugh.
- Redline – Anime – A movie version of Speedracer and pretty good.
- Pluribus – TV series – Season 1 is now over, and we need a review of it, as it was one of the best shows of 2025.
- The Satan Bug (1965) – Movie – Can’t tell you a thing about it now.
- Deathstalker – Movie – A new version starring Daniel Bernhardt. This would have been good if they hadn’t taken it so seriously.
- The Running Man – Movie – The new one, and loved by Stark and Hawk, as it was close to the book.
- Roofman – Movie – Based on a true story, Channing Tatum is a guy who hides in a toy store after breaking out of jail. It was quaint.
- Into the Wild – Movie – Based on a true story of a lad giving up on life and living in Alaska. Great movie with a great soundtrack.
- Wall Street – Movie – Gordon Gecko is the man!
