Ahh, Friday, the start of the weekend. We can all happily park our bums on the sofa and watch movies, movies, movies, and TV series, TV series, TV series.
The problem, as always, is what to watch over the weekend. What you need is a list of movies, from a panel of experts! We don’t have that, so here’s a list from the Last Movie Outpost instead.
- Barbarian – Movie – Modern horror and nicely done.
- Stand By Me – Movie – More from ROB Reiner, and still a well-made movie.
- The Princess Bride – Movie – I bear no shame in loving this movie, ‘As you wish!’.
- Orca (1977) – Movie – Jaws was big, but an orca is bigger. Stupidly good fun movie.
- Warfare – Movie – The new one, and a tense movie and very well made.
- Thunderbolts* – Movie – Standard Marvel movie that everyone forgot about.
- The Mummy – Movie – The Tom Cruise one, which again, is instantly forgettable.
- Now You See Me: Now You Don’t – Movie – The new one, and again, forgettable.
- Captain America: Brave New World – Movie – The fourth in a trilogy that no one needed.
- Sisu 2: Road to Revenge – Movie – The sequel and just friggin’ awesome!

- Ghosts of Mississippi – Movie – More from Reiner, and a brilliant courtroom drama.
- Extreme Prejudice – Movie – Western excellence from Walter Hill.
- Ace Ventura: Pet Detective – Movie – Still funny today, over 30 years later!
- Night at the Museum 3 – Movie – The series started to drag on from here.
- Porridge: The Movie – Movie – Still very funny, but weird without the laughter track.
- The Bucket List – Movie – Again, Reiner, a good movie, but it drags a bit in the middle.
So, there is your weekend all sorted. If you start that list now, you can have them all done by Monday. You might have to skip meals, sleep and going to the bathroom, but worth it, I think.
What are you watching this weekend?
