Something for the Weekend

Another weekend is here, where did the week go? I know where mine went, work, work and more work. At least I can kick back over the weekend and watch something new. At the very least, something classic.

As always, we’ve made a note over the past week of things we’ve been watching, so you don’t have to think and just pick one of the following:

  • Freaked (1993) – Movie – Wonderfully bizarre fun
  • Cat People (1982)– Movie – The remake and much more erotic than I remembered
  • Prom Night 2: Hello Mary Lou (1987) – Movie – Cheesy 80s horror, but good fun
  • The Witch in the Window (2018) – Movie – Hidden gem of a horror, nicely done
  • The Stone Tape (1972) – TV Movie – Made by the BBC in the 1970s, it’s a very creepy horror
  • Reacher Season 3 – Series – So far, so good
  • The Banshees of Inisherin – Movie – Good, but not a great ending
  • Cobra Kai – Series – The final season and sticks the ending
  • House on Haunted Hill (1999) – Movie – Solid remake
  • Lord of Illusion (1995) – Movie – Interesting Clive Barker movie
  • Fright (1971) – Movie – British horror with Susan Gorge, interesting with a stupid ending
  • The Plank (1967) – TV Movie – A ‘silent’ movie with Tommy Cooper and Erik Skyes, very silly and funny
  • Spaced – Series – Nice to see Simon Pegg being funny before he sold his soul to Hollywood

That should keep you going for a bit. There’s bound to be something on there that’s new to you or worth a rewatch this weekend.

Just a warning, but avoid Love Hurts with Ke Huy Quan, it was terrible. The main premise of the movie is ‘That Shortround kid from Indiana Jones is still working and does Kung Fu”. It was not worth the watch.

It’s the same old troupe; a nice guy has a hidden past as a killer. In this one though, he lives his killing days behind him and becomes a real-estate agent. He has billboards, with his face, all over his town. The rest of the writing is just as bad.

If I stand still, you don't know which one is me!

So what are you watching this weekend? Remember, we’ll have a moaning about what we watched on Mondays.
