Something For The Weekend

Ahh, the weekend, it’s time to kick back, grab some beers and spend an hour looking through what to watch. Finding something good to watch is like trying to find your car keys when you’re late.

Fear not, you lovely Outposters, we have you covered. Here are some things we have been watching that might give you some ideas for the weekend.

Ghostwatch – Movie – A faked ‘live’ show from the BBC and nicely scary
Deer Hunter – Movie – Still a classic
Dexter: Final Cut – Series – No news on this, but someone watched it
The Last Starfighter – Movie – On of the best sci-fi movies ever!
Rocky V – Movie – An unappreciated entry in the Rocky series
The Apple (1980) – Movie – From Golan, staring Catherine Mary-Stewart. Interesting movie
Love Hurts – Movie – Shortround (from Indy) has a dodgy past. Not a good movie
Mischief – Movie – Another of Catherine’s movies and rather good fun
Nightflyers – Movie – Yet another Catherine movie, written by Geroge R R Martin. Again, interesting
Reacher – TV series – Still holding up
Cobra Kai – Tv Series – nailed the ending and left it on a good note
Arachnophobia – Movie – Great fun movie, if you don’t mind eight-legged friends
Daredevil – TV series – So far, so good

That should keep you going for a while over the weekend. Some new, some classic, some you might not have heard of.

TV Series

Both Reacher and Daredevil are mid-seasons. So far, I think Reacher is nailing it, I love the character and story, it’s really good. Daredevil has had two episodes, so far, it’s nothing amazing.

The first episode was interesting, one of the main characters is killed off, I guess for motivation. It’s interesting to see Fisk and where he’s headed. I hope it’s going to be a good series.

Movies

I’ve been having a run of Catherine Mary-Stewart movies. She was Maggie in The Last Starfighter but also had a huge career in movies. If you haven’t see The Last Starfighter, go and watch it, now! It’ll be the best weekend ever for you.
