SPIDER-MAN Still Rules The Box Office

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in its fourth week and still doing very well at the box office. So far, Spidery has taken over $2.2 billion. It’s still behind Avatar and Endgame in total takings, but that might happen.

If it carries on, it should overtake Endgame and become the highest-grossing movie at the domestic box office. I’ll bet Sony are happy.

Also this weekend, Insidious: Out of the Further came out. Its box office was only $23 million. I say only, but it’s pretty lacklustre for an opening weekend. The previous Insidious movie opened with $33 million.

Out of the Further is the sixth movie in the Insidious franchise. Are people starting to get bored with them milking every movie like this?

The Odyssey took another $18.5 million at the box office. The End of Oak Street saw a 62% drop, with just $8 million this weekend.

The Stath’s new movie, Mutiny, had a disappointing $7 million. This is mostly due to the movie being leaked on Amazon Prime. Not being funny, but a Jason Statham movie isn’t really something to see at the cinema. They are movie a kebab and mates at home on streaming.

Mutiny was leaked on Prime, and watched by a lot of people, before it was taken down. Of course, copies then appeared online to anyone flying a skull and cross-bones.

Did you contribute to the box office takings this weekend?
