Being a parent, I cannot avoid SpongeBob SquarePants. However, as I am also massively immature, its silliness and self-awareness appeal to me. I wish I could say the same about modern Star Trek. But what would happen if the two unlikely-to-merge worlds were combined?
Well, wonder no more. Paramount+ has released a new marketing campaign that delivers exactly that, a mash-up of Star Trek and SpongeBob SquarePants and am I really typing out that sentence, or has Big Vern slipped me some dodgy pharmaceuticals in our latest batch of powdered entertainment?

Well, on the off chance that I am not having some kind of drug-induced mental breakdown, here is what to expect.
The clip sees some of the cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, such as Spock (Ethan Peck), Captain Pike (Anson Mount), and Uhura (Celia Rose-Gooding) joined on the Patrick Starship Enterprise by SpongeBob SquarePants, Sandy Cheeks, and Mr. Krabs.
Now, I think I need to lie down.
