STAR WARS Galaxy Expands

One for the nerds this morning, and you know what? That is just fine. It was our inherent nerdism that brought us all together via movies and the internet and shaped us, over the years, into Outposters. To a real nerd, there is nothing quite like a good cutaway. A detailed map comes close. Now, the Star Wars galaxy map is getting some more detail.

A few years ago, as the sequel trilogy was getting underway, Lucasfilm started a project. That project was to map every planet that had featured in Star Wars lore into their most detailed galactic map ever.

Then the project went quiet as the noise over the quality of the sequel trilogy grew. Now it has been relaunched, and a new map has been published.

Now you, too, can figure out how long the Falcon took to travel from Hoth to Bespin. You can see how isolated Yoda’s exile was. You can see how the Hutts became a force in the Outer Rim.

This time, the Unknown Regions have been mapped, including Sith planet Exegol and Csilla, the home world of the blue-skinned Chiss, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s species.

Extragalactic locations, such as clone factory planet Kamino, and Peridea (Ahsoka), are not included.

Lucasfilm has said the map will now be updated and revised periodically and promised a more detailed version for areas such as the Core and Inner Rim.

You can visit the full map here and unleash your Star Wars nerdism while dreaming of a world where things were more like Andor and less like The Last Jedi.

Please help keep the lights on at the Last Movie Outpost, if you can spare a few bucks.
