STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER Casts Matt Smith

The Eleventh Doctor, from the once-popular TV series Doctor Who, has been cast in Star Wars: Starfighter.
We report that Patty Jenkins Shawn Levy will be directing Star Wars: Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling and Mia Goth. The story remains unclear but involves Star Wars and likely multiple Starfighters.

The movie was announced at Star Wars Celebrations earlier this year.

Star-Wars-Starfighter

Smith has had an interesting career, with some real hits; Dr Who (back when it was good), The Crown, Last Night in Soho, and House of Dragon. I never got into House of Dragon, but people said it was good, and Smith was good in it.

He has also had a few misses; Morbius and Terminator: Genisys spring to mind. He always gives his best, but nothing could save Morbius. #ItsNotMorbinTime

What is odd is that this Star Wars project actually seems to be moving forward. So far, there have been more announcements and cancellations than Family GuyRian Johnson’s trilogy stalls, Taika Waititi’s film pauses, and Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron is now called Star Wars: Starfighter.

We all know that Star Wars news is about as exciting as a prognosis from the doctor these days, but some of us still live in hope. Stupid people like me. As long as there is a certain person at the head of Lucasfilm, the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ is just a train coming the other way.

Star Wars: Starfighter will likely announce more cast members, and we’ll update you when they do.
