Steven Soderbergh’s BLACK BAG Trailer

Steven Soderbergh has had an interesting career, from Sex, Lies and Videotape to the Ocean movies, to Che: Parts One and Two. His newest movie, Black Bag, has a trailer online.

It looks like Mr & Mrs Smith, but all serious and Soderberghy. Black Bag does have a good cast though – Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Tom Burke, Rege-Jean Page, and Orli Shuka.

Soderbergh is directing with David Koepp writing. The official plot is:

“From Director Steven Soderbergh, Black Bag is a gripping spy drama about legendary intelligence agents George Woodhouse and his beloved wife, Kathryn. When she is suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate test – loyalty to his marriage or his country.”

I didn’t review it, but I watched Canary Black the other day with Kate Beckinsale, that’s pretty much the same story. It didn’t need a review, as it was a waste of my time writing it, and your time reading it.

Soderbergh has worked with both Fassbender and Blanchett before. Fassbender in Haywire from 2011 and Blanchett in The Good German from 2006. She was also in Ocean’s 8, which was produced by Soderbergh, but he stayed away from directing it. Clever man.

Black Bag will be in theatres on the 14th of March 2025.
