Pre-production is now well underway on James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, and the March filming date is now in view. Last night, Gunn was back talking to fans on Threads and gave them an update on how things are going as he prepares for the big start:

“It’s going swimmingly. Sets being built, costumes being finished, actors studying roles, prosthetics and VFX models being made, flights booked. Here we go.”

He also said the final concept art for the new Superman costume isn’t quite finished yet, but things will all be ready “…By the time we shoot.” So this would explain why no art has yet leaked or been released. It’s not ready yet.

Asked if he had about 90% of the cast locked in, he responded: “More”, so there might be some more announcements to come, but not many.

Superman: Legacy follows Clark Kent in the early days of his Daily Planet career as he juggles his life as Clark with his other activities, and struggles to reconcile his heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and a brighter tomorrow in a cynical world that views kindness as old-fashioned.

Joining Davis Corenswet as Superman / Clark Kent are Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Maria Gabriela de Faria as Angela Spica / The Engineer, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason / Metamorpho.

An excuse to publish a picture of Isabella Merced, you say?

Superman: Legacy will be in theaters on July 11th 2025.
