It’s time for another mass debate amongst us Outposters. We can all sit in a circle and mass debate about the little things in life. And yes, I know I have made this joke before, but it’s Saturday and I’m not using my brain over the weekends.
The great debate this time is about the little things that annoy you in movies.
Last week, I caught some of The Borrowers on UK TV. It’s a sweet little movie and fun, with a little slapstick humour. Sue me, I like it. Anyway, one thing I don’t like is the Borrowers themselves which I thought might make a good debate.
They constantly band on about how they don’t steal, they borrow. Sorry, but this is a load of bollocks! They never ask permission, they never give things back, they just take it. If you tried that in a shop, they would do that in a shop? I don’t think so.
It got me thinking about the silly little character traits that some characters make that annoy me. For example, when Sean Archer, John Travolta’s character in Face/Off keeps running his hand down a loved one’s face. Or Heath Ledger’s Joker, the way he keeps licking his bottom lip.
For the great debate this weekend:
What character trait, from a movie, really annoyed you?
You’re watching a movie and enjoying it, but the main character keeps doing something and it just annoys you and takes you out of the movie. Gentlemen, vent your frustrations and ruin movies for everyone.
