The LMO Great Christmas Debate

Christmas is a time for arguments. It always happens. Your sister-in-law has all those whacky opinions, and just can’t stop pushing your buttons over the dinner table. You’ve had a few too many egg-nogs, and before you know it, festive cheer is replaced by the need for an awkward family meeting in the kitchen. You know where you are allowed to argue in comfort? That’s right, here at Last Movie Outpost.

Outposters are superior online movie beings, and that means we can take it. Ain’t nobody getting a dressing down over the rapidly drying out turkey here today.

You know what else Christmas is a time for? Pwesents! Shit… no, none of that here. If we start down that path, then we are truly lost. Presents! That’s better.

The magic of Christmas, for a young Outposter of a certain age, was waking up on Christmas morning to discover the fat man had been, and what a haul he had left you! No iPads or digital doo-hickeys back then. What you got was a veritable mountain of vacuum-formed plastic and sheets of stickers. A happier time, a simpler time.

So today’s very special Christmas debate is simple:

What was the greatest movie, or entertainment-themed Christmas gift you ever recieved?

For me, as a kid born in the mid 1970s, every Christmas was a Star Wars Christmas, and there was only one toy that everybody wanted. The Millennium Falcon. Two issues. One, it was fucking expensive, and two, there was a global shortage. So we waited, and we yearned, and then, one special year, a suspiciously large box appeared under the tree, and our life became complete.

We weren’t rich enough to get this in the first wave, as shown above. We got The Empire Strikes Back edition a few years later, after the price had come down considerably.

So, over to you, Outposters. What was that movie adjacent toy that made all your Christmas wishes come true?
