THE NIGHT MANAGER To Get Season 3

The Night Manager was a truly superb show, which many are discovering late as their interest is piqued by the second series, ten years after the first, now rolling out. This second season premiered on the BBC and iPlayer last week, and arrives on Amazon Prime tonight for the rest of the world.

The Tom Hiddleston-led espionage thriller series will release three episodes at once on the streamer, then go weekly.

Now that this second series is in front of audiences, sights are being set on a third.

The first season followed John Le Carre’s novel closely. The second series tells an all new story created specifically for the show.

Now Georgi Banks-Davies, who directed all six episodes of the second season, says there won’t be ten years to wait between instalments this time around. They are already working on season three scripts.

“There was a third season that was always in the offing. David is writing it now – he’s at the coalface and in the early stage. But yeah, when the second season came, the plan was to go to three. So when you see our whole series, you’ll see it can sit entirely alone but can also sit very much as the second book in the trilogy.”

In the interview with Variety, he is referring to creator, David Farr:

In The Night Manager, Hiddleston stars as Jonathan Pine, a British intelligence operative. Olivia Colman also returns from the original series alongside new joiners Diego Calva, Camila Morrone, Indira Varma, Paul Chahidi, Hayley Squires, Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone, and Noah Jupe.
