Serial killers remain a subject of morbid fascination to many people, so Netflix will help the wrong ‘uns scratch that itch through Ryan Murphy’s anthology series – Monster.
This time around, it tackles Ed Gein, in the form of Charlie Hunman.
Set in 1950s Wisconsin, nobody knew that the quiet recluse living in their midst was capable of horrors.
On his isolated farm, and driven by an ongoing obsession with is mother, the Butcher of Plainfield would begin his journey to infamy.
Gein’s crimes inspired fictional killers from Norman Bates to Buffalo Bill.
His edition of Monster stars Laurie Metcalf as Ed Gein’s mother, Augusta, Tom Hollander as filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and Olivia Williams as Hitchcock’s wife, Alma Reville.
Monster: The Ed Gein Story will premiere on Netflix on October 3rd.
