Back in 2018 and 2019, the November box office broke the $1 billion cumulative gross barrier. Will there be any repeat of these sorts of numbers this year? We are only a few days in, and it was a subdued start to the month.
Venom: The Last Dance has dropped over 50% from its first week on release, and pulled in about $26 million. It won the box office the week, but only because there was nothing in the way of competition out there.
The Wild Robot continued to show staying power, and sat in second place with $7.6 million, just ahead of Smile 2 in third $6.8 million.
Rober Zemeckis’ Tom Hanks-led Here is suffering from poor reviews, and made just $5 million for the weekend, it was pushed down into 5th place by thriller Conclave, with $5.3 million.
Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 played on 35 screens and pulled in $90,000 in one night. It also has very strong reviews. Will this mean Warner’s will go for a bigger release strategy?
This month will see the release of Moana 2, Gladiator II, Wicked, and Paddington in Peru, so there is still time for a breakout juggernaut or two to turn the month around.
