So today is the day. Paramount Skydance merges with Warner Bros. Discovery to form an overarching organisation that will be known, at the top level, as Skydance. So what about Warner CEO David Zaslav?
As is traditional, the purchased party is expected to lose the senior management layer pretty much the moment the signatures hit the paper.
As a result, the Warner Bros. Discovery CEO Zaslav sent out a company-wide email that contained a three-minute that is taken as his farewell message.
A story in The Hollywood Reporter gave an overview, saying Zaslav recorded it in Burbank and said that it had been “a great honour to be alongside all of you”.
Zaslav exits with a payoff worth around $800 million, while those left behind now have to face the inevitable restructuring and lay-off, so as a result the message is said to have not landed well with the rank and file at Warner Bros.
