Star Wars is back on the big screen! It seems Season 4 of The Mandalorian will now be a movie called The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Now, before you all sigh and roll your eyes, there is a slight glimmer of hope that Jon Favreau will be directing. OK, now you can sigh and roll your eyes.
Favreau created The Mandalorian for Disney+ and for two seasons it felt like proper Star Wars was back. The reveal of Return Of The Jedi Luke Skywalker at the end of Season 2 will go down in history as one of the pivotal moments in modern-day geek mythology. It also gave us old geezers a rare moment to celebrate Star Wars again.
Finally, the future of the franchise we’ve all adored since 1977, which is currently being held hostage by Kathleen Kennedy, had one last hope ( you see what I did there?). And then came along Season 3 and it completely shits the bed, and we were back to square one… again.
It’s A Trap!
The Mandalorian & Grogu will be produced by Favreau, Dave Filoni, and… Kathleen Kennedy… oh, FFS! Apart from that, little else is known about The Mandalorian & Grogu, but Jon said in a statement:
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing The Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
Kathleen Kennedy also chipped in and cackled:
“Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into (Disney) Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”
I Have A Bad Feeling About This
The first season of The Mandalorian scores an impressive 78% Audience Score over on Rotten Shillmatoes. The second season smashes that with a huge 91%. However, season 3 limps in with a pathetic 51% (I didn’t look at the Critic’s Score as they cannot be trusted).
So, with this in mind, has Disney Star Wars finally listened to the audience and decided to change tact, ditch season 4 in favour of giving us something more epic in scope and spectacle?
It’s unlikely. The Mandalorian & Grogu is probably going to be another case of Disney and Kennedy doubling down and continuing to throw shit at the wall in the hope the real fans will lap it up. We won’t of course, and Disney and their paid shills in the media will once again call us bigots, and misogynists. Rinse and repeat until the next installment of Disney Star Wars.
Arsehoka Season 2
Talking of next installments, it was also announced that Dave Feloni will be back for Ahsoka Season 2. And that’s all the time I care to give to this news. Stay on target Outposters, we are the Rebellion.
