Alan Ritchson’s star is most definitely on the rise on Hollywood. He has been steadily working, with roles in Smallville, Blue Mountain State, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on his resume.
Then he really hit the big time when he was cast as a drifter who uses his skills as an ex-Army military police investigator to help various people in towns around the United States in Amazon’s Reacher.
Based on Lee Child’s multi-million-selling Jack Reacher book series, it propelled him to prominence. With two seasons completed and a third completing production shortly, he is likely to stick with the role for some time.
Ritchson is currently filming action-comedy Playdate, and in a few weeks, he will be appearing in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
After finishing filming on season 3 of Reacher, he will be jumping straight across the Netflix for the lead role in War Machine.
This is a co-production with Lionsgate and is an action/sci-fi movie from director Patrick Hughes (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, The Man From Toronto). Hughes wrote the script with James Beaufort.
The film takes place during the final 24 Hours of the tough selection process for the US Army Rangers, when a team encounters a threat beyond their imagination.
Todd Lieberman, Alex Young, Greg McLean, and Rich Cook will produce.
