If we ever fell through some weird timestorm, like in The Final Countdown, and through the vagueness of how space time really works, somehow ended up as kids again in the 1980s, but Jason Statham was still a movie star, you can bet on one thing. We would ride our BMX bikes as fast as we could down to Ahmed’s Convenience Store / Gas Station / VHS Rental Emporium and, snatched off the rotating wire racks, we would have rented the shit out of his movies.
Except for Big Gay Darren. He would have gone there on his roller skates.
Now standing seemingly alone in his own genre of men with a particular set of skills that they really should have left alone, The Stath is a reliable beacon of mid-budget action thriller hope in a world that cannot seem to put anything in theaters for less than $250 million.
He has also shown considerable comic timing in several movies.
So it is with interest that we watch this project – Jason Statham Stole My Bike.

Jason Statham will play Jason Statham in a Jason Statham movie about Jason Statham.
Jason Statham, Stole My Bike will be directed by Bullet Train and The Fall Guy director David Leitch, whom Statham knows from the tremendously silly and fun Hobbs & Shaw.
This is likely a meta-comedy, and is known to feature multiple action set pieces and has a budget of $80 million.
Alison Flierl (BoJack Horseman) wrote the script. Currently being shopped at the international film market in Berlin, Amazon are leading the bidding on the project that is attracting a lot of interest.
Leitch and his wife Kelly McCormick are producing through 87 North banner with Statham, John Friedberg, Meredith Berg, and Ethan Erwin also on the ticket as producers.
The Beekeeper 2 has finished filming. Guy Ritchie’s Viva La Madness is shooting right now in London. Shelter is out now in theaters and will be on PVOD shortly. No shortage of work for a gravelly voiced bald man who punches people good, with an accent to be determined.
