Coyote vs Acme nearly didn’t see the light of day; it was going to be a tax write-off. However, you can’t keep Wile E. Coyote down, and the movie ended up getting a release date, and here is the trailer.
This could be fun, right? Coyote vs Acme stars John Cena, Lana Condor, Will Forte, P. J. Byrne, Nancy Linehan Charles, and Bennie Taylor. Dave Green is the director, with Sammy Burch, Jeremy Slater and, sigh, James Gunn writing. That’s a fly in the ointment. The story
A story set in the ACME warehouse, the manufacturer of anything and everything used by the Looney Tunes characters.
This was the third movie that David Zaslav shelved as a ‘tax write off’. The other two movies were Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. I would give my left nut to see Batgirl. I’ll bet it was terrible.
When the movie was shelved, Green, the director, said:
“For three years, I was lucky enough to make a movie about Wile E. Coyote, the most persistent, passionate, and resilient character of all time. I was surrounded by a brilliant team, who poured their souls into this project for years.”
“We were all determined to honor the legacies of these historic characters and actually get them right. Along the ride, we were embraced by test audiences who rewarded us with fantastic scores.”
In the end, the rights were sold to a new distributor, who wanted to share it with the world.
Coyote vs Acme will be released on the 28th of Aug.
