Isn’t it always the way, you’re out for a nice drive and you hit an animal? It seems that Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega haven’t just hit a random animal, but a unicorn. Here is a trailer for Death of a Unicorn.
Interesting, interesting. It’s certainly something a little different opens up an entire universe of possibilities; The Injury of a Leprechaun, The Griffin Goes To Hospital, or The Whitening of Michael Jackson.
Death of a Unicorn stars Rudd, Ortega, Tea Leoni, Will Pouter, Sunita Mani, Richard E. Grant, Jessica Hynes, and Anthony Carrigan. Newcomer Alex Scharfman is the writer and director.
The story is:
Father-Daughter duo Riley and Elliot hit a unicorn with their car and bring it to the wilderness retreat of a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO.
From the trailer, it looks like the DNA of the unicorn holds the key to the cure for cancer. I’m guessing it will then be about the others trying to steal the idea for the money. That is until other unicorns try to fight back. It looks interesting.
Ari Aster is the producer and John Carpenter has composed the music, which is random. Aster is known for his, umm, unusual movies like Hereditary, Beau is Afraid, and Midsommar. There must have been something about the dark comedy that drew him to Death of a Unicorn.
We have said before that A24 movies have been becoming a little formulaic, so here’s hoping this is something a little fresh from them.
Death of a Unicorn will be in theatres in the spring of 2015.
