Only 3 days ago, we reported that it looked like Sicario 3 was going to happen. Now comes all sorts of big news about the project courtesy of a report at Deadline. First up is that all three original leads are back together. Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, and Josh Brolin are all set to return.
Blunt will return as agent Kate Macer, alongside Del Toro as assassin Gillick and Brolin as handler Graver. Brolin and Del Toro returned for the second film, but Blunt was not present. Understandable after where the first movie left her character, mentally.
The Weight and The Exorcism director Padraic McKinley has been attached to direct. Peaky Blinders creator and writer of the new James Bond movie Steven Knight will pen the script based on an outline by Taylor Sheridan.
Black Label Media and Thunder Road are the production houses, with the story expected to round out the franchise and close it off. Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill will produce alongside Basil Iwanyk, Ed McDonnell, and Erica Lee.
