Thor was the best character in the first three Avengers movies. Chris Hemsworth showed remarkable comic timing, but Thor’s comedy came from his interaction with others, rather than any inherent slapstick. See Avengers: Infinity War. Thor is hilarious in that, but doesn’t actually crack a single joke, or execute a single pratfall.
That all started to change for his third solo outing, and by the fourth, Thor: Love And Thunder, he had been turned into a one-trick, purely comical character in his own movie.
Thankfully, whatever else happens, it looks as if Avengers: Doomsday will take the trouble to remind everyone that Thor is a warrior first. Hence, the very deliberate tone of this Thor-centric teaser.

Following a debut in cinemas this past Friday with the second weekend of Avatar: Fire and Ash, Marvel Studios has now officially dropped the second of several teaser trailers for Avengers: Doomsday online.
So the pattern is set – a new teaser in cinemas every Friday, and the online release the following Tuesday. Next up is the X-Men teaser featuring Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Ian McKellen’s Magneto, and James Marsden’s Cyclops, as we discussed yesterday.
The fourth trailer has been rumored to feature several different characters at the centre, but the latest online scuttlebut is that the Wakandans and the Fantastic Four take centre stage.
Avengers: Doomsday is out next Christmas.
