Today is a rather amusing day for the rap fraternity. It seems that so many famously heterosexual rappers may have been enjoying each other’s company rather a bit too much. So much so, that we may have to re-write almost all of the words to Gold Digger. Another former rapper who has been “missing”, well, at least off our screens since an unfortunate, unrelated, incident at the Oscars over two years ago, is Will Smith.
Well, he’s back, as is his Bad Boys partner Martin Lawrence. Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the fourth entry in their action franchise.
The plot has been kept almost as on the “down-low” as some of these recording sessions we are now starting to hear about, but the trailer shows the return of Miami PD detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett and seems to imply that they have been framed and are now the targets of a manhunt.
Alexander Ludwig, Vanessa Hudgens, Eric Dane, Paola Núñez, Rhea Seehorn, Tasha Smith, Jacob Scipio, and Ioan Gruffudd co-star star.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who helmed the third film Bad Boys for Life in 2020, are returning for this latest installment.
Thanks to the vagueries of the Covid pandemic and the following theater closures, day and date releases and so on, Bad Boys For Life was also the top grossing US film of 2020. Seriously.
Here is the trailer.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die hits cinemas everywhere on June 7th.
