Look, we are just saying that this thing might work, OK? It’s just about a crazy enough idea. We are not kidding. Warner Bros. Pictures and Mattel Film have released a third and final trailer for the live-action Barbie movie and it raises a smile. Maybe even a chuckle or two. Seriously.
Greta Gerwig wrote Barbie with her partner Noah Baumbach, and she directed herself. In the film, a doll living in Barbieland sets off on an adventure in the real world. Margot Robbie takes on the role of Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken. Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon, Ritu Arya, Hari Nef, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne, and Nicola Coughlan also all play Barbies in the film.
Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Scott Evans all play Kens. The cast is rounded out by America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Connor Swindells, Ariana Greenblatt, Jamie Demetriou, and Helen Mirren have other roles.
The film’s soundtrack will feature music from Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, FIFTY FIFTY, Gayle, Haim, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, Khaliz, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Pink Pantheress, Tame Impala, and The Kid Laroi. Ryan Gosling has also written and performed a track for the movie, and Dua Lipa has contributed multiple original songs.
Barbie opens on July 21st opposite Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
