Unfortunately, with Amazon looking like the hold-up in any new 007 adventure moving forward, it looks like Henry Cavill’s chances of becoming James Bond are fading as he ages past his early 40s. This is a shame, as everyone knows he would make a great Bond. Still, he won’t be short of work. Warhammer 40,000 is now deep in development, and Highlander is moving forward. Now comes a rumor he could be in Star Wars.
Writer-producer Simon Kinberg, co-creator of the well-regarded Star Wars: Rebels, has a deal in place to create a new trilogy of Star Wars films. This is said to be a completely new direction for the franchise and will feature all new characters and stories.
A report from internet scooper MyTimeToShineH says the Man of Steel star has met with Lucasfilm regarding a part in this trilogy and it is said to be that of a villain. Cavill was great as the villain in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
Other Star Wars projects in development include projects from James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Shawn Levy, and Taika Waititi. It is a revolving door of creatives. Will any of these see the light of day.
