DC-Clayface

CLAYFACE Is Cast

Clayface was a script that came out of nowhere and, according to reports, blew people away. Nobody asked for it, but it was pushed fast into production based on its strength.

Now the man who will take on the role has been found. Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries has beaten out Jack O’Connell (Sinners), Tom Blyth (Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) and George MacKay (1917) for the lead.

James Watkins (Speak No Evil) directs from that script from Mike Flanaghan, which was revised by Hossein Amini (Drive).

So this has some proper talent involved.

Harries recently starrred in Netflix’s White Lines, and Apple TVs Suspicion with Uma Thurman.

Nobody knows exactly what the plot is, but reports say it was inspired by Feat Of Clay.

That was a two-part episode of Batman: The Animated Series that originally aired in 1992 and tells the backstory of the character.

An actor named Matt Hagen is disfigured in a car crash. Mob boss Roland Daggett offers him ae experimental treatment that allows him to transform his face for short periods into whatever appearance he wants.

In return he must work for Daggett. When a job goes bad, Daggett’s men force feed him an overdose of the formula.

This mutates him into a walking shapeshifter.

Clayface shoots in the UK this summer and is set for a release in Fall 2026.
