Confession

CONFESS Your Rage

This confession is about how you have managed to hold yourself back. Confess the times when someone’s movie-based stupidity convinces you that your IQ is dropping just talking to them.

When did a conversation about movies convince toy that there should be justifiable homicide?

Confession

Come on, confess, you’re a nerd like me! I tend to think I know more about movies than the average person.

If you give me a movie, I can usually tell you who’s in it, who directed it and who was the second grip. One thing I love is chatting to other nerds.

I Confess, I’m a Nerd

I recall at a wedding once; and I met up with an old friend. Somehow, the word Mandalorian came up, and both of us knew what this was.

This was long before Disney even took over Star Wars, so knowing what a Mando was meant you were a real nerd, to me anyway. My friend and I ignored the wedding and had a great time, eating free food and discussing the workings of Boba Fett’s armour.

Then there is the other side of the coin, people who think Fight Club is a sequel to The Breakfast Club. Some people say the most stupid things about movies. So much so, it can make your brain hurt. Confess, you’ve met people like this and they don’t look like this:

Gadot-Gif-Confession

While browsing social media the other day, someone who claimed to be a movie geek made a post, realising how important music was to a scene in a movie. If it were a scene with a mad man chasing a woman in a horror movie, it wouldn’t work with ‘happy’ music over it.

(Please read the following in the most sarcastic voice possible); Wait, you’re saying music influences what you’re watching? Ever since the moving image was invented, it’s been accompanied by music, and you’ve just worked out that the music has to be appropriate to the scene in the movie!

You think Jaws would have been different if they had played the Spice Girls’ Zigazig-ahh over the top of Christie being eaten? Thank you for this revelation about how music can affect the movie you’re watching!

Don’t tell the most reverend Reverend we are doing this without him, but for confession this time:

What is the most stupid thing you’ve heard someone say about a movie?

What have you heard someone say that makes you respond like this?

Confess when you have felt a real sense of superiority over someone else’s stupidity about movies. Stick to films though, let’s not open a can of worms about life in general.
