Highlander

Crowe To HIGHLANDER

Jor-El and Kal-El are teaming up again. After their turn together in Man Of Steel, Russell Crowe and Henry Cavill are set to get back together for Highlander.

Cavill has been set for a long time as Connor MacLeod, the Christopher Lambert role from the original movie. It won’t take anyone long to deduce that Crowe is to appear in the Juan Sánchez-Villalobos Ramírez role.

This role was famously played by Sean Connery in the 1986 original and is known for the character’s nonsensical backstory and mismatched accent. The role, which is little more than an extended cameo in the original, is of the wise and experienced mentor to the lead character.

Crowe

No word yet on if the character’s role will be beefed up this time around, or we are looking at another quick appearance. Connery filmed all of his scenes in the original in just a week, and has a screen time of just over 15 minutes in total. For this, he earned $1 million.

John Wick director Chad Stahelski will oversee this remake, shooting from a script by Michael Finch (John Wick: Chapter 4).

Stuber and Nick Nesbitt will produce the new Highlander film alongside Stahelski.
