Some fairly major spoilers for Deadpool 3 have landed, courtesy of British tabloid newspaper The Mirror. Filming on the third Deadpool movie is back underway and these pictures from the set, obtained by the newspaper, have teased the return of more X-Men characters.

Both Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine are picking up where they left off with a fight scene in a desolate, dusty, rocky location. What was new this time was who they were fighting.

Earlier set photos had shown them fighting each other. The new shots see Wolverine against what appears to be Sabretooth. What makes this even more interesting is that it is Taylor’s Mane’s Sabretooth from the first X-Men movie, and not Liev Schrieber’s version from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Also captured in a picture was Deadpool carrying around Sabretooth’s decapitated head. According to the report, another mutant from the original X-Men film was also on-set – someone in make-up as Toad. No word on if it was Ray Park himself.
The Shawn Levy-directed sequel will mark the MCU’s first R-Reated movie as it brings the fox character into the MCU fold. It is also the only MCU entry in 2024, with the only other Marvel content being Sony efforts – a triple whammy of Madame Web, Kraven the Hunter, and Venom 3.
