DOOMSDAY Editing Tension & Issues?

It’s not unusual for large movies to have reshoots, and change in editing. Marvel movies are also well known for not being afraid to change things during shooting.

Avengers: Doomsday famously entered production with a script that was in a, shall we say, highly variable state.

The feeling on set was that the shoot went very well, and it was all coming together nicely.

Now they are in the editing room, it may not be so easy.

Reports are emerging online that Doomsday  is struggling to “find itself” in the edit. Not a big deal with six months left before release, but they will want to solve this quickly.

The reports started to spread after  John Campea reported on his podcast that there were some issues.

He said the directors and editors were finding it challenging to assemble the movie, as it is simply one of the largest and most ambitious stories ever put to film, with a huge number of threads to connect.

“Apparently, when they shot the movie, everything felt great, everything looked great… but now that they’re editing, they’re discovering some issues” and were having issues “finding the movie in the edit”.”

He did say that  another source has completely dismissed these rumors.

World of Reel then chimed in, as reported via Dark Horizons, with a report from their sources that says there is some friction in the writing room, but they are making progress.

Marvel will not be letting the date slip, as the fan-dubbed cinematic event of Dunesday is very much in plan.

Avengers: Doomsday opens in movie theaters on December 18th.
