Blood. So much blood. Lots and lots of blood. That seems to have been the briefing for the fourth Expendables movie, imaginatively titled Expend4bles. Lionsgate has certainly delivered the blood, as we can see in this new red-band trailer.
50 Cent, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia join this entry of the franchise alongside returnees Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture. Terry Crewes is absent. According to the blurb:
“Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give the term ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.
Soon the team are drawn into a conspiracy that aims to ignite a nuclear conflict between Russia and the United States.”
Uwais will be playing the villain.
Arnold Schwarzenegger won’t be returning for this entry, and Bruce Willis’ well-documented health issues are keeping him out of the action. Stallone will play a smaller role this time, making Statham’s Christmas the lead.
Scott Waugh is directing. Spenser Cohen and Max Adams wrote the script. Kevin King-Templeton, Les Weldon, and Yariv Lerner produce.
Expend4bles opens in cinemas everywhere on September 22nd.
