Just what exactly is going on with Fast & Furious? It seems nobody really knows, nobody is in control, and pretty much anything Vin Diesel says can probably be taken with a massive pinch of salt.
He has claimed numerous foul starts and false dawns, recently going as far as claiming a finished script he had seen for Fast Forever had moved him to tears.
The supposed final instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise has been in some sort of limbo ever since the last movie, all the way back in 2023. Delays, scheduling issues, budgetary arguments, and confused messaging have all made the picture around the… erm… picture, increasingly murky.
Now, despite Diesel’s rather clunky attempts at PR, a report from The Insneider claims things are far, far worse than you thought.

Let’s break down what the report claims – There is no finished script, there has never been a finished script, and now the studio needs a new director so it looks like Louis Leterrier has walked. Beyond that, the report says that the studio is keen for the movie to feature a passing of the torch from Dominic Toretto to a new, younger team.
For that, read a cheaper team.
The March 2028 release date is now considered to be impossible to meet.
