First Look SPIDER-NOIR Series

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse introduced a lot of new Spider-Persons, including Spider-Pig (copyright The Simpsons). One of the new characters was Spider-Noir, played by Nicolas Cage.

The series will star Cage, Andrew Lewis Caldwell, Li Jun Li, Jack Huston, Lamorne Morris, Abraham Popoola, Lucas Hass, and Brendan Gleeson. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot are the showrunners. The story is:

An aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.

There is a new image online of Cage as Spider-Man Noir.

It’s been confirmed that the series will be released in colour and black and white. We’ve now reached a point where companies don’t think people can reduce the saturation on their TVs, so it’s better to release a series twice.

Talking about Spider-Noir, Lukas Haas had previously teased it might be in black and white:

“We filmed it in — I think it may come out in both black and white and color, but when we filmed it, the monitors were all black and white, so you got this feeling and it looked very, very authentic. To the point that I would actually go and look at the monitor and think I was looking at some older footage, but it was actually just a monitor of what was on the camera at the time.”

“They did a beautiful job with the filters and all that stuff, making it look like genuine old 1930s, black and white film. But obviously, just the writing, and Nic is incredible. It’s just a really fun project and I cannot wait to see how it turns out.”

Marvel did a series of Noir comic books in 2009. Taking place in an alternate universe, the stories took place in the hard-boiled era of the United States during the Great Depression.

Spider-Noir will be on Amazon in 2026.
