You can’t keep a good Jedi down. Or rather, after The Last Jedi and Obi-Wan Kenobi, you can’t keep a disappointing Jedi down. According to some rumors out there on the internet, some key characters will be making a return soon in their spectral form for the upcoming movie featuring Rey trying to rebuild the Jedi order.
Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen will reportedly appear as force ghosts in the new installment. The new film will take place about 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker, and if this rumor is true then it will be the first recorded example of Rey needing any help with anything at all.
There is one interesting thing here. It will be the first time Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen will have worked together. The forced (pun-intended) insertion of Hayden into the ending of Return Of The Jedi was all post-production. Maybe Luke can ask his Dad why he looks 25 years younger than Luke in ghost form? It hardly seems fair.
Mark Hamill, assisted by heavy CGI and a body double, reprised the role of Luke Skywalker in the Book of Boba Fett, reappearing after a showstopping cameo in The Mandalorian. Hayden Christensen returned in Obi-Wan Kenobi as both Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker. That show also featured the return of spectral Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon.
They are not the only returnees in the world of Star Wars. Temura Morrison will be re-appearing as Captain Rex in Ahsoka.
