There is a guy in Hollywood who is quietly managing to be everywhere, but somehow keeps it low-key at the same time. Paul Walter Hauser. He started as a wrestler on the independent circuit. He’s also a musician.
You may know him as the comical “Stingray” in Cobra Kai. As an actor, he appeared in I, Tonya, BlacKkKlansman, Late Night, Da 5 Bloods, and Cruella. In 2019, Hauser starred as the title character for Clint Eastwood in Richard Jewell.
He would then go on to win a Golden Globe and Prime Time Emmy as the murderer Larry Hall in the 2022 miniseries Black Bird.
On top of this, he has signed on to take over the George Kennedy role in the upcoming reboot of The Naked Gun alongside Liam Neeson. He is also going to play Chris Farley in an upcoming biopic which was recently sold to New Line.
This guy is everywhere, even in the MCU. According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Hauser has signed on for a role in The Fantastic Four, but the character details are under wraps. Stingray for Doctor Doom? Stranger things have happened.
He joins Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer.
WandaVision director Matt Shakman is helming the new film. According to some rumors out there on teh interwebz, the movie will at least start on an Earth set in the 1960s.
Eric Pearson has written the latest draft of the script and shooting starts any day now for a July 25th, 2025 release date set.
