Zombies are cool. Werewolves are cool. So how come no one has put them on the screen together before? Well, check out the trailer for Dead Howling.
I think this looks like fun: a guy who can turn himself into a werewolf to kill hordes of the undead. What’s not to like?
Dead Howling stars Ryan Kwanten, Temuera Morrison, Tom Burlinson, Joel Jackson, Riley Stiles, and Dan Paris. John V. Soto directs and co-writes with James Pickering. I know I should laugh, but it makes me giggle when it says ‘From the director of Needle’. It’s a movie I haven’t even heard of.
The story for Dead Howling is:
A werewolf hunts zombies after losing his family. He meets two humans seeking sanctuary and joins their quest, protecting them with his powers. Their journey grows perilous as zombies start evolving.
The rest is from the press release. Combining brutal action, nightmarish monsters and a bleak, lawless wasteland, Dead Howling is a ferocious new addition to the post-apocalyptic horror genre, unleashing an all-out zombie vs. werewolf showdown where the dead and the damned collide.
Chosen as part of Tubi FrightFest Halloween 2026’s official selection, the film will screen twice during the event’s Halloween Day celebrations, giving audiences two opportunities to experience Dead Howling on the big screen before its home entertainment release.
In a world devastated by a zombie virus, Carter lives a solitary existence, spending his nights hunting down the living dead for sport with the help of a tremendous power. However, he finds new purpose after saving the lives of two siblings, Megan and Billy, who are seeking a rumoured safe zone. Reluctantly agreeing to protect them on their journey, the trio must outrun the next evolution of their undead enemy, and even their fellow survivors, who all pose unimaginable danger.
Dead Howling will premiere at Tubi FrightFest on 31st Oct.
