Forgive me a moment of borderline Boomer-ish ranting about the current state of things, but why is everyone so goddamn weak these days? Not physically, but mentally?
I work in offices that have their own Mental Health First Aider. You can’t venture 200 yards on the internet without somebody with their pronouns in their profile literally shaking over something. What was simply playground humor when we were younger is now labelled as “hate speech”. Everything is overly emotional, overly feminised, and basically, we are worse off for it.

What led to this middle-aged lament? Well, it stems from a conversation just the other day at LMO HQ where Wrenage watched the original Arthur, with Dudley Moore, and an exchange of dialogue really stood out to him:
“Why are you a hooker?”
“Well, my mom died when I was six, and my father raped me when I was twelve.”
“So you had six good years then?”
These days, that makes the Ooof-O-Meter spike up to 11. It set us thinking about other lines of dialogue in movies that would also cause a modern sensitivity reader to fill their panties in horror. Hawkzino chimed in with this exchange from Highlander:
“Are you a faggot, Nash?”
“Why Garfield? Are you cruising for a piece of ass?”
We were also thinking wider than just dialogue. Entire scenes, maybe entire movies, that modern filmmakers wouldn’t dare touch with a ten-foot bargepole for fear of Hollywood cancellation. Would even something relatively recent like Borat get greenlit in this climate?
So we wanted to open it up to you, our beloved Outposters – What dialogue, scenes, movies, whatever… would simply not get made today?
