Everything, everywhere may be delayed by the strikes, but Disney+ is pushing on with Loki, season two. The viewing figures for both season one and the various material they have been dropping online must have convinced them that this show can power through.

The first season gave us the very first look at the new big-bad, Kang The Conqueror, via one of his variants simply referred to as “He Who Remains”. The laws of time and space seemed to be broken, and Loki was betrayed by Sylvie, a variant of himself. In season two, Loki will be trying to warn everyone about what is coming in the form of Kang, which is easier said than done when you are trapped in a timestream. With Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on the way, this will clearly serve as a major building block towards that.

The official blurb says:

“‘Loki’ season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous Multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.”

Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, and Sophia Di Martino all return, as does Jonathan Majors as Kang. Ke Huy Quan joins the main cast, which is rounded out by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, and Neil Ellice.

The series was created by Michael Waldron, with Eric Martin serving as the show’s head writer. Directors on season 2 include Dan Deleeuw, Kasra Farahani, and Moon Knight directors, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead.

Loki season two will be on DIsney+ from October 6th.
