McG Wants A KISS Biopic

There’s been plenty of rock band biopics, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Doors, The Runaways and The Hindenburg, which I think was about Led Zepplin. Thank you, thank you, I’m here all week. It looks like KISS is going to get the treatment as well.

The band KISS is made up of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. And makeup, a lot of makeup. McG is in negotiations to direct a script titled Shout It Loud.

I can’t say I know KISS all that well so had to look them up. They rose to fame in the 1970s and were known for their outrageous makeup and outfits.  At their live shows that featured fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets and levitating drum kits. Sounds like a giggle.

There is no news on who is starring in the movie. I’m guessing whoever is playing Gene Simmonds is going to need a long tongue. For some reason, I know that about the band.

McG is currently working on Way of the Warrior Kid, based on the children’s novel. The story is:

A self-doubting kid who gets bullied learns to find his inner warrior with the help of his uncle, an elite Navy SEAL, who uses his training to guide the youth over the summer.

Way of the Warrior Kid stars Chris Pratt, Linda Cardellini and Jude Hill.

Shout It Loud isn’t due to enter production until 2025, but in the meantime, let’s get some rock on with some classic KISS!
