After 29 years, and numerous broken bones, Mission: Impossible is entering its final stretch, at least in this iteration, with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
Now writer / director Christopher McQuarrie, known as McQ to all involved in the productions, has spoken about a reaction to the eighth Mission: Impossible movie.
In an interview with Empire he confirmed that they had held an early screening of the movie and one audience member in particular had exactly the reaction they were looking for:
“We had a small screening, and someone said, ‘I was suffocating throughout the entire sequence. I almost had a heart attack’. And I thought ‘I guess we did something right’.”
McQuarrie didn’t reveal which scene, but given the talk of suffocating it might be the much trailed sunken submarine infiltration sequence.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning co-stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Holt McCallany, Angela Bassett, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Katy O’Brian, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Stephen Oyoung, Mariela Garriga, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell and Frederick Schmidt.
They just started killing off major characters in this franchise, so who knows who will make it out of this final instalment alive.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning opens in cinemas May 23rd.
