As usual, Vanity Fair is first with some high quality images from an upcoming project. This time around they have got to Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.
This is also the first look, albeit shrouded, at Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, Saltburn) as the monster.
Rumor is that this will be an R-rated movie and while still a horror, frames the story through the emotional lens of the relationship between a creator and his creation.
In the 19th Century, Dr. Pretorious (Christoph Waltz) needs to track down a monster (Elordi) that was believed to have died in a fire 40 ago in order to continue the experiments of its creator, Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac).
Mia Goth plays Victor’s fiancée Elizabeth Lavenza, while Lars Mikkelsen, Ralph Ineson, David Bradley, Felix Kammerer and Charles Dance all co-star.
Frankenstein will premiere this September at the Venice and Toronto festivals before being released on Netflix in November.
